publishing venue for new and unpublished authors to e-publish and POD publish their novels. Welcome to Dragonblade Publishing!
Kathryn Le Veque Novels website gets thousands of hits a month.
Many of these hits are new authors looking for a venue in which to e-publish their novels. Dragonblade Publishing is kicking
off in May 2010 and will provide a venue for new, unpublished authors to e-publish their books. These are the genres
we are currently hosting: - Historical Fiction
- Historical
Romance (Medieval, Regency, Western, etc. Anything pre-1940)
- Sci
Fi
- Fantasy
- Young Adult (fantasy, Sci-Fi, Vampire, etc.)
- Mystery
- Adventure/Romance
- Gay, lesbian
- Racial/interracial
No: Comics, graphic novels, pornography
(other than in the context of the romance plot line), poetry, self-help books, non-fiction.
Submission Guidelines: To be considered: - Send a synopsis (1 page or less) along with
the first chapter (or first 25 pages) of your book to submissions@kathrynleveque.com. We will get back to you within thirty (30) days to let you know if
your novel is accepted.
Format: - Books must be as free as humanly possible from
typos, punctuation or grammatical errors. Review your manuscript and re-review your manuscript to ensure that it is
as perfect as you can get it. Have someone else go through it to catch any typos or continuity problems you may have missed.
Dragonblade Publishing stresses quality. Make your project a quality piece of work that people will want
to read.
- We accept short stories (5,000 words) up to mega-novels
(100,000 words). A rule of thumb is 250 per page, so 100,000 words = 400 pages.
- Send all manuscripts in Word 2003 or Word 2007 format.
- Double-spaced,
12 point Arial or Tahoma font.
If your novel is accepted, we will do without
charge: - E-publish your book using Adobe PDF and post it in the appropriate category.
- Your novel will stay posted for 3 months. Authors with followings and fanbase will eventually get their own
page as determined by Dragonblade Publishing and the length of keeping the novel posted will be negotiated.
- Create a manuscript for use as a POD (Print on Demand) hard copy.
- Design a cover (you will provide the book description for the back
of the book jacket), and create a publish on demand webpage where readers can click and order a paper back copy
of your novel. This link will appear next to the e-book link, giving readers a choice of a free e-book or purchasing
a paper back copy.
Terms and Conditions: - We do not
charge for the PDF e-book posting, the cover design or creating the hard-copy of your novel. We do, however, retain
the rights to the cover design as our intellectual property and may not be used by the author without our express written
permission. Any such use will result in the immediate removal of the e-book and links to the POD hard copy. If you want
to purchase cover design, you may do so at a nominal fee at which time it will become your intellectual property.
- By submitting your manuscript, you are acknowledging that your novel or any excerpts
are not published anywhere in either hard copy form or on the world wide web. You also agree to allow Kathryn Le Veque Novels
dba Dragonblade Publishing the sole rights to present your novel during the three month period the novel is posted.
- Since we do not charge for the PDF e-book, cover design, or the labor to create
your POD (publish on demand) book, we will take a percentage of the POD hard copy books that are ordered. Since POD
books are more expensive and of better quality than most book store paperbacks, they are more expensive to produce. A 100,000
word novel can run as much as $20 for a 5x8 copy. By submitting your manuscript and allowing Dragonblade to post and
publish, you are acknowledging that Dragonblade has the right to retain 50% of the sales per novel from any books you sell
during the 3 month period that your novel is posted on our website. In this way we recoup some of our labor and design
costs and we only get paid if you sell a book.
- By submitting
your novel to Kathryn Le Veque Novels dba Dragonblade Publishing, you acknowledge that all material submitted is completely
original. Any deviation or plagiarism will be grounds for permanent removal of both the material and author from the
Kathryn Le Veque Novels website.

Dragonblade Publishing does not promise, intimate or otherwise guarantee that your manuscript will sell or otherwise be promoted.
We make no guarantees of money generation of any kind or marketing of any kind.
- The usual 3 month posting period may be renegotiated at the end of said period upon mutual agreement of both the
author and Dragonblade Publishing.
